A downloadable tilewalker-game for Windows and Android

Disclaimer: Unreleased development version

New Version 0.0.0.7.1 (September 2025)

Welcome to Vardehn, Tilewalker!

Tile-What?

This is not your average match-3 puzzle game! How about a match-6, match-12, or even match-24 instead? If your skills are good enough, that is!

In this kind of puzzle game—which I like to call "Line-Match"—you don’t just connect 3 and let the game do the rest! Oh no! You’ll have to chain as many matches as possible in a constantly changing grid of up to 36 gems at the same time.

In "Chronicle of the Tilewalker", you’ll embark on an epic puzzle-adventure unlike anything you’ve ever played before.

Survive! Collect! Fight!

Survive!

You are the only survivor of your devastaed village — and now, all you know is revenge!
Join the young Hoarder  Bikku, your guide and companion, in this hostile world.

Hi, let me guide you on your quest!

You are now  a chosen entity, called the  Tilewalker, destined to follow a mysterious path of glowing tiles only visible for you.
You have no other choice!

Embark on an epic quest in a never-before-seen puzzle adventure game.

You must find your way through a wide range of dangerous environments.
Face gigantic monsters and collect gems along the way.

Collect!

Learn Tilegems — an epic game of line-match puzzles!
Match as many gems of the same kind into a single line — called a chain — to gain points and gather them.
All gems will be useful on your quest, so collect wisely and plan your next steps.

In a unique twist, the gameplay for each level is divided into two phases:
In the first phase, collect a variety of useful gems to reach the level's goals.
In the second phase, prepare to defend yourself against gruesome monsters.
This battle phase features a different set of combat-specific gems.
Connect them cleverly to gain the upper hand — attack, defend, heal, or even cast devastating status-altering spells against your foe.

Fight!

But beware — these monsters are no easy targets.
Each one comes with a unique set of attacks designed to hinder your progress.

Every battle will harden you.
Every exploration will bring you one step closer to your goal.

Grow!

Earn gold and experience points after each level.
Meet intriguing NPCs, and learn new skills and spells to aid you in both battle and exploration.

Choose out of 5 different classes, that will change the way you can collect gems and act in battle. Each class has there own advantages and disadvantages. So choose wisely.

Dive deep into a lore-rich dark fantasy world with a unique gameplay twist and over 10 chapters to explore.
Hundreds of enemies await your blade.
Hundreds of challenges lie ahead.

Do you have what it takes to be a TILEWALKER?!

Will you be able to bring back peace to Vardehn and revenge your village? Or maybe the path did choose another destiny for you to fullfill???

Developer Note:

This is a very early build of the game. You can download for free and play as long as you like, but it may break at some point. No internet connection is required, and there are no ads or anything else that would pull you out of this sinister, lore-rich world.

I am a passionate gamer myself and I love games like Dark Souls, The Legend of Zelda, and Puzzle Quest, as well as both classic and modern Japanese RPGs. From my point of view, all these influences are already visible in the current build.

The game is planned to be released on Android first, and later on PC (Steam, GOG, Epic, etc.). It's entirely developed by one person (me), so updates might take some time. The final price for the finished product hasn’t been decided yet.

If you choose to download and try "Chronicles of the Tilewalker" in its current (very) unfinished state, I truly appreciate any feedback or even critique that helps make this game the best it can be.

Just keep in mind: this is my personal passion project — so I don't grant any wishes. 😉

Oh, and if you haven’t noticed by now: most of the images you see here (except for the screenshots) were generated by AI — as is most of the music and sound effects in this game.

If that’s not your cup of tea, I totally understand.

But if you’re still interested, feel free to explore Vardehn and all it has to offer.

You can also download the ZIP with the windows build , is is not optimized for PC screens at the moment nor has a full desktopmode. However it will be the same experince, since its developt with mouse control as default. Just download the ZIP,  extract it and start the game by clicking on the .exe file. No installation required!

Also, playing along with the colors to create a better match would really improve the overall look.

Hi, could you please explain which part of the game or gameplay you’re referring to? Thanks a lot!

I mean overall, making the color matches each others and contrast with the bg it'd be great. And it'is up to you to experiment.

Thanks for the advice, I will think about this.

Good luck.

Hey buddy! Hope you’re doing well. I played the game again and I have a few remarks to share: some parts are still not fully translated, as I noticed some German text popping up. For the UI/UX, it could be improved by enhancing text readability (maybe changing the font), fixing overlapping text, making the clickable buttons stand out more, and adjusting the UI background since sometimes it makes it harder to distinguish the elements. Overall, the game is really good though—wishing you a great journey with it!

Hey there, great to hear your feedback, I really appreciate it. Hearing a second opinion is always gold. You’re absolutely right — I’m constantly working on optimizing the UI, improving the translations, and adding new features along with technical improvements. My list of features and bug fixes is already very long, I can tell you. Thanks for the kind words! I’m doing my best to create a mobile game that I can truly enjoy myself — apart from all the money pits that these kinds of games have become nowadays. Hope you’ll stay with me on this path. :)

(1 edit)

Good luck buddy. The most important thing is to enjoy the journey.

Great work! However, when I try to change the language to English, it doesn’t work.

Greetings, Tilewalker!

Thank you so much for checking out this world. Your feedback is greatly appreciated. Currently, the default language is German, but you can change this in the settings ("Optionen"). At the current state, switching to English has to be saved manually: after selecting English, you need to click the "Speichern" button once. If you then hit "Zurück", the game will be set to English. After that, the (currently available) translation should be applied for the rest of the session.

For now, you will have to set the language every time you start a new session, but I will change the default language to English in one of the upcoming releases.

Let me know if these steps helped you—and most importantly: stay on the path!

The GGG

Yes it works. Thank you!

That’s great! I hope you can already enjoy the game in its current state. It’s still far from finished, but feel free to let me know what you think of it. And if anything seems unclear or broken, please let me know as well :)

Thank you!
